Economics is often considered challenging. One reason for this is that economics is like your first course in a foreign language, where you need to learn a new vocabulary and a new way of thinking. But like a foreign language, if you take this course seriously and work at it, you will learn macroeconomics. It’s not rocket science. If you study the texts, participate in class, and work through the homework assignments, you will learn macro.

Most of your learning should occur outside of class time, working on your own. The purpose of our class meetings will be to guide, direct, and reinforce your learning outside of class. We will begin each class by answering any questions about things you don’t understand from the text or other readings, or from previous days’ class notes. Asking questions is an important way to learn the material.
